“I am the Bread of Life”

By Vicar Tim Homan

A devotional from the “Promised Treasure” devotional series written by Reverend Dr. Timothy R. Puls.

After Jesus fed thousands, the Jews argued with Him. They even appealed to the greatness of their father Abraham (see John 8:39-47) and the prophet Moses (see John 6:32-37). However, they failed to see that Jesus Christ existed eternally before Abraham and that Abraham rejoiced to see Jesus’ day (see John 8:56-58). Jesus also far exceeded Moses, who brought only the aw, while He brought grace and truth (see John 1:17; Hebrews 3:5-6).

Are you failing to see the greatness of your Savior? Are you hungering or longing for something more out of life outside of Jesus? Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, the life, and the veery bread of life) see John 14:6). In Jesus, you will never hunger or thirst because He always refreshes, satisfies, and feeds every hungry and longing soul, especially yours. No one who comes to Him ever lacks anything or will be cast away. So, partake of Him, eat His flesh, drink His blood, and you will live forever.
