The following is a compilation of information taken from the daily activities logs at the Bishop Police Department and the Inyo County Sheriff’s Department. Since most cases have yet to be adjudicated, all charges should be considered allegations.

10:06 a.m. – Battery, occurred at Big Pine School. Disposition: Report taken.

3:25 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances, occurred on Indian Creek Drive in Bishop. Possibly someone broke into the reporting party’s house. Disposition: Will follow up.

5:53 p.m. – Generic fire call, occurred on Sierra Vista Way. Chimney fire. Disposition: Assisted other agency.

Jan. 22

8:29 a.m. – Traffic hazard, occurred at northbound U.S. Highway 395 from Lone Pine. White rig, smoke coming out of the back, white trailer. Disposition: Referred to other agency.

8:38 a.m. – Domestic violence definition, occurred on S. Main Street in Lone Pine. Disposition: Report taken.

1:51 p.m. – Suspicious subject, occurred at Mt. Whitney Cafe in Lone Pine. Male acting erratically, sprayed WD-40 on an axe around the corner in the alley. White male adult, thin, chain wallet, beenie and flannel shirt. Disposition: Unable to locate.

2:10 p.m. – Accident, unknown injuries, occurred on McLaren Lane in Bishop. Neighbor crashed car into a neighbor’s fence. Disposition: Assisted other agency.

7:17 p.m. – Generic fire call, occurred on N. Lone Pine Avenue in Lone Pine. Chimney fire, all people out of the house. Disposition: Fire department handled.

7:41 p.m. – Burglary, occurred at a store in Bishop. Unknown male took a battery charger among other items. Disposition: Report taken.

8:10 p.m. – Request deputy, occurred on Piper Street in Big Pine. Reporting party has not heard from her daughter. Disposition: Contact made.

8:37 p.m. – Disturbance, occurred at Wanaha Casino parking lot in Bishop. White male adult using drugs in parking lot. Disposition: Contact made.

Jan. 21

6:08 a.m. – Violation probation/felony, occurred on Mt. Whitney

Drive in Lone Pine. Drunk. Disposition: Arrest made.

2:13 p.m. – Request deputy, occurred on West Street in Bishop. Ongoing issue between tenant and landlord, verbal only. Disposition: Contact made.

4:59 p.m. – Battery, officer-initiated activity at Inyo County Jail, S. Clay Street, Independence. Disposition: Report taken.

8:49 p.m. – Citizen assist, officer-initiated activity at the corner Of Dixon/Brockman, Bishop. Subject slumped over the steering wheel. Disposition: Area checked.

Jan. 20

12:22 a.m. – Disturbance, occurred at a mobile home park on Maciver Street. Male screaming in the alley, unknown what is going on, not sure who he is yelling at. Disposition: Warning (verbal).

7:12 a.m. – Vandalism, occurred at a hotel on W. Willow Street in Lone Pine. Damage to room and door, there is a dent in the door and the lock has been ripped off. Disposition: Report taken.

8:28 a.m. – Identity theft, occurred on Cottonwood Lane in Wilkerson Ranch. Reporting party advised that a Verizon account was opened under the reporting party’s name and Social Security number for $1,733 in October 2020. Disposition:

Information taken.

9:20 a.m. – Scam(telephone/email/ postal), occurred at an apartment complex on Willow Street. Reporting party was scammed on Facebook for an out-ofstate purchase of vehicle, purchased $2,000 worth of Apple cards and provided the numbers to the seller two days ago. Disposition: Log note only.

9:21 a.m. – Overdue person, occurred at Kennedy Meadows in Olancha. Reporting party advised that his father went up to Kennedy Meadows he was at base of hill at 1 p.m. Jan. 19 and had 50 miles to drive to get to Kennedy Meadows. Reporting party was unable reach him since. Disposition: Advised of options.

9:46 a.m. – Vandalism, occurred on Teya Road in Lone Pine. Reporting party advised someone drilled a hole in the gas of a vehicle and drained fuel. Disposition: Log entry only.

11:28 a.m. – Petty theft, occurred on N. Willow Lane in Fort Independence. Disposition: Arrest made.

12:19 p.m. – Register sex offender, occurred at Bishop Police Department on W. Line Street. Reporting party in lobby as a transient into jurisdiction. Disposition: Report taken.

12:56 p.m.

– Any civil problem, occurred on Lagoon Street. Reporting party thinks his vehicle may have been stolen after the repair shop blocked his phone calls. Disposition: Civil problem.

1:48 p.m. – Assault with deadly weapon, occurred at a store on N. Main St. Reporting party requests to speak to an officer regarding on going harassment. Disposition: Report taken.

7:34 p.m. – Assist other agency, occurred at a motel on W. Pine Street. Male laying down near his bike, cannot get back up, in the alley. Disposition: Referred to other agency.

Jan. 19

6:19 a.m. – Request deputy, occurred at the casino in Bishop. Subject is outside the casino and will not leave. Disposition: Contact made.

6:51 a.m. – Request deputy, occurred at Round Valley Elementary School on N. Round Valley Road in Bishop. White van camping in the staff parking lot and they would like a deputy to tell them they need to leave. Disposition: Contact made.

8:27 a.m. – Traffic hazard, occurred at Pa Ha and Diaz in Bishop. Subject in the roadway yelling at cars. Disposition: Contact made.

12:07 p.m. – Generic fire call, occurred on At 190 in Olancha. Equipment on fire next to a house. Disposition: Report taken.

12:32 p.m. – Trespass, occurred on Sierra Street. Reporting party would like an officer to make contact reference a female who keeps showing up at her property, knocking on windows and leaving packages and pills in her mailbox. Disposition: Log note only.

7:53 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances/person/ vehicle, occurred at a hotel on N. Main Street. Reporting party is requesting extra patrols throughout the parking lot during the night, advised that different people are coming in looking for an employee and every time they come in they say they are working for a different agency/reason for wanting to contact employee. Disposition: Log note only.

7:59 p.m. – Request deputy, occurred at a restaurant in Bishop. Subject sitting in restaurant; won’t leave; will not respond to staff asking him to leave. Disposition: Contact made.

8:57 p.m. – Assist other agency, occurred in Tecopa. Out by Furnace Creek Road, a female subject in a T-shirt and underwear locked herself out of her camper. Disposition: Contact made.
