Spaghetti dinner benefit

BISHOP – The VFW Auxiliary Post 8988 will be hosting a spaghetti dinner Wednesday, March 22, to benefit Joe and Rebecca Bragdon. On March 28, Rebecca will donate her kidney to Joe in a lifesaving surgery held at UCLA. The couple will remain close to UCLA for six to eight weeks for intensive antirejection recovery. Rebecca’s recovery will be two months while Joe’s recovery will be six month. Funds are being raised to maintain their residence and monthly bills in Bishop while also securing a recovery residence in Southern California. All proceeds will be used to relieve the financial strain on the couple during this time. The dinner of spaghetti, garlic bread and a cookie will be served from 4 p.m. until sold out at 484 Short St., Bishop. There also will be a 50/50 raffle, $1 per ticket or six for $5, winner need not be present.
